Our kapibara wedding ring

Our wedding band is one of the most precious things in our marriage and we wanted it to be special and memorable. Vincent and I felt that we shouldn't just pick any wedding band and have something unique for ourselves. We didn't want just simple bands or those that are commonly bought in the stores, so we decided to turn to customizable rings.

In Singapore, more people tend to buy from shops that have premade designs than customize rings and so I turn to Instagram for inspiration. I wanted to know what are my options and check for brands that are in Singapore and overseas. That is where I came across K.uno. From their customer reviews, product and photos, I was totally sold.

One of the examples of a customer product was this! It is absolutely gorgeous and you can tell from the ring the theme and what they love.

We made an appointment with K.uno and went down with Miki and Miso to assist us. As you can see below, most of K.uno shops have nature tree-like design. In Japan, they will serve you tea and chocolates upon visits.

The staff was friendly and helpful and the artist was amazing. During the process of the design, we were supposed to tell what we want or how we imagine it to be. Since we didn't know what we really wanted, we really just started to say things we love and the artist started drawing many designs for us.

The design was truly one of a kind! Anyone can do a Capybara on their wedding ring, however, the artist came out with a vine design that looks like our number "29" and a heart that will be one when we join the two rings.

The final piece of the sketch was this that I manage to take after we have paid and came back for our next appointment. They usually do not want you to take any photos of it because of the fear you may just go to another store and copy their design.

After payment and waiting for almost 2 months for the design mould to arrived. Miki and I went for the appointment to see the mould for the rings which is the green colour rings shown below. Here you are supposed to check the size and details of the ring to see if there are any changes need to be made. As shown, I was really happy how the capybara turns out and was overjoyed.

When the final product was done, the outcome was what we are looking for and we truly love it.

We even paid extra for the frame and sketch for memories as we know this is a memory we should keep. The whole process of it was really far and not stressful at all. As you can see from the design, we didn't include any sort of diamonds as we didn't like it.

K.uno also have a lifetime customer service for their rings and we are able to go back to any shop to get it polish or resize.

Our thoughts about wedding bands are that they make more sense to pay more for these rings than the engagement ring which is mainly for the bride. I can truly say that I wear my wedding band way more often now than my engagement ring and I'm really happy when I look at that capybara on my finger.
