Where to find Good Hot Chocolate in Singapore (part 1)

I'm on a quest.. The quest to find the most delicious hot chocolate in Singapore. The one cup that can bend space and time.

So why hot chocolate? I was never a big coffee fan... Probably because is too bitter for me. I grew up drinking Milo and probably the next best thing is Hot chocolate in cafes.
If I wanted Milo, I would go to the hawker center instead of paying 3 times amount in the cafe. There are also many blogs and articles on where to find the best coffee in town or which you should go for. However, finding an article for hot chocolate is not as popular. Hence why I am making this post! Is to tell me which cafe I have been to and which I still feel is the best.

I had tried many Hot chocolate, and I felt that some deserve the recognition while others is just the basic. There are many kind and just like chocolate, some taste really different from the others. How much milk content, what chocolate they use, like powder or liquid and also how they topped it off.

With the roots from a chocolatier, you can bet that their hot chocolate will give you the satisfaction that you need if you want a taste a good quality drink.

I ordered their Classic Hot Chocolate and I can hand's down say that this is top 5! The hot chocolate that is like liquid heaven with fluffy clouds topped off with cocoa powder is just divine

Mellower Coffee

Hot Chocolate - 6.20 sgd
⭐⭐⭐

Came all the way from china, Mellower Coffee finally open 2 outlets in Singapore with a hint of the local twist. Having factory and academy in China and winning various awards. It is said that this place is something to shout about. Step into their cafe at Bugis street and you will see a modern industrial design which is perfect for a group or even alone. Tables and sittings, which cater for almost any kind of customers.

Even thought this cafe is mainly for coffee lovers, I tried their hot chocolate here and I would say is decent enough to make me satisfied. Is not on the heavy and thick chocolate side as they mix it with more milk. Is more like a chocolate latte.

Wild Honey

Hot Chocolate - 6 sgd
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wild honey is not new to many Singaporeans as it had been around for quite some time. They are well known for their brunch, and I agree as is something to shout about. With a cozy and homely vibe in this cafe, it's certainly a place to wind down and relax.
Their hot chocolate is different from the other places that I went. They serve it in a Turkish coffee pot which you had to pour it yourself into a cup. The hot chocolate was just delightful. The down side, is quite a small severing and it was on the thin side.

Antoinette

Antoinette's Hot Chocolate - 7.50
⭐⭐⭐⭐

With a cafe named after the queen of France, french pastry would pop out in my head. The cafe is tucked inside of Mandarin Gallery which is decorated to look like a royal palace. A place that you probably want to go with a bunch of girls and have high tea.
While having their brunch, I decided to order their hot chocolate as there were many to choose from. I tried their classic and it was just perfect! Thick, creamy, smooth. All in one cup.

Knots Living

Knots Choco-latte - 6.20 Sgd
⭐⭐

Knots is not your average cafe as it is located in a furniture store. Hidden in one of the industrial areas of Singapore. This place is visited by many locals around the area for their food.

While having lunch here, I tried to pair my main dish with a cup of hot Choco-latte. Different from the others that is called hot chocolate, this cup really tastes more like a latte. With more milk content, than chocolate, it is pretty light and not heavy.

Nine Thirty by Awfully Chocolate

Chocolate Cappuccino with Cinnamon Stick - 8 sgd
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Affiliated with the all chocolate cake bakeries, Awfully Chocolate. Nine thirty is their cafe version to provide quality food to match with their dessert. Said to be the perfect place to enjoy the full awfully chocolate experience when you dine at this cafe and I got to agree. With desserts and drinks that was never found in a normal cake store, this is a great place to try something new.

Awfully chocolate, best known for their thick chocolate in Singapore had a whole page for drinks and half the section was taken up by just hot chocolate. With so many to choose from, I was ecstatic! I wanted to try them all. After many trips down, and trying almost 50% of their drinks, I will be talking about the most recent one which is the Chocolate cappuccino with Cinnamon stick.
This bittersweet chocolate, which was thick and rich. The drink itself was perfection. To give it a kick by adding the cinnamon added a little spice to it which felt like I was celebrating winter in another country.

Fynn's

Hot Chocolate - 6.50 Sgd
⭐⭐⭐

A casual modern cafe that has an Australian background. Fynn's vibes had a mixture of casual, beach and tropical feel with a splash of class that is just asking you to come and relax. With green plants that brighten up the room and straw chairs, the cafe is warm and inviting.

Even thought Fynn is not well known for their chocolate, their hot chocolate did provide the satisfaction I needed. Mix with liquid chocolate and hot steamy milk and topped up with foam with a latte art is just pleasing to the eyes.

Arteastiq

Hot Cioccolata - 9 Sgd
⭐⭐⭐

Arteastiq, a place to go for arts and tea had captured the peoples' heart with their unique experience. By having an art studio next to their cafe and letting people enjoy the best of both worlds, many just loves it. Not only do they have the artistic side, their food and drinks are also something. Their fusion dishes and wide selections of beverages that let you wonder which to try will put you in a spot.

They offer 4 kinds of hot chocolate and that to me is plenty. I tried their classic hot Cioccolata topped with a heart latte art. Mixed with fresh and steamy milk, this hot chocolate latte is not as thick and rich as the others. It did help me get over my craving for hot chocolate when I needed, however I feel that their forte is in their flavored tea.
